Original pencil drawing displaying a Chinese woman in Canton carrying water through the gate. This vintage original pencil drawing was done by Louise Campbell [Billie] Mei, born in Kansas in the early 1890s, was a cartoonist for the Tokyo Advertiser when she met Granddad in Canton during the First World War. This is a very scare and nicely carved Chinese lacqued, gilt wood small buddha statue, probably placed in a devotee's travelling shrine. The details are excellent with fine lacque workmanship. The nose of the buddhas has been rubbed off, and two strings of the robe on the elbows were broken due to the aging. Circa Song Dy. to Ming Period. Size: 2 1/2 inches tall. This is a very rare Chinese Mu Hua ( Petrified ) scholar's Suiseki table rock or Gongshi. The rock displaying the original tree knobs and barks as shown. It is very scare to come across such stone, especially with so well preserved patterns, fitted with modern rose wood stand. Size 10 inches tall. It weights about: 4 kgs. Excellently carved antique Japanese ivory carving showing a artisan painting his work using one of his brushes. The carving is very detailed everywhere as shown without any part missing. Circa Meiji period. Size: 2 5/8 inches long and 2 1/4 inches tall. The carving has some original labels on the base, and it might cover the signature underneath.
