This is a very rare Chinese Mu Hua ( Petrified ) scholar's Suiseki table rock or Gongshi. The rock displaying the original tree knobs and barks as shown. It is very scare to come across such stone, especially with so well preserved patterns, fitted with modern rose wood stand. Size 10 inches tall. It weights about: 4 kgs. An extremely nice and all naturally formed Chinese famous Lai Bin suiseki scholar's rock with a typical Zen taste. The rock is from Guangxi province and dug out from the well-known Red River bed. Finest Chinese Shoushan stone carving of a sitted Happy Buddha on a mat, with beads around his nect and onto his big belly, and one hand on his knee and the other holding his "Goodies" bag. His loose robe is carved with nice fabric patterns and inlaid with coral beads. Excellent details on his face, hands and foot. Circa 18th C. This is an exceptionally fine antique Duan inkstone carved beautifully with clouds and dragon that coming out of it exposing his head and tail. The inkstone is engraved with a short couplet of Chinese poetry, and with a signature which needs to be identified. The stone is elegantly shaped with fitted old Jichi wood of fine grain and patina. This is an Exceptional fine white nephrite jade carving of a cute monkey riding on a horse back. The both animails are exquisitely detailed with great spirit. The stone is white with just a touch of a natural russet inclusion. The design is well compact resembling Song tradition. Circa 18th/19th C.
