Probably Beijing Palace Workshops, Qianlong period, 乾隆 1736 – 1795
Height: 6.6 cm.

Alkali feldspar with shades of yellow and light brown, with a vertical purple vein running across both sides, the bottle of meiping form with a short cylindrical neck, flat foot, and a ring around the shoulder.

The stone used is from the family of alkali feldspar and could be either microcline or orthoclase, which are often found one next to the other. The material could erroneously be identified as amethyst, which comes in shades of purple and yellow. Nonetheless, this is an exceptional and elegant bottle with skillful use of a material rarely found in snuff bottles.

Provenance 起源: Linda F. Crawley
