An ormolu clock finely chiseled, surmounted by an allegory of Love. Cupid standing behind a young female figure in drapery writing "On t'aime et on te fuit". The mechanism between four columns is richly decorated with laurel, an ewer and a flaming tripod. The rectangular base is ornate with a frieze representing a putto playing with three musicians.
Very good condition.

Pendule en bronze ciselé et doré, surmonté d'un groupe à l'allégorie de l'Amour. Une jeune femme assise, vêtue à l'antique, écrit sous le regard d'un amour ailé, la maxime "On t'aime et l'on te fuit". Mouvement inscrit entre quatre colonnes ornées de tresses de laurier et encadrées d'une verseuse amphore et d'une athènienne. Cadran émaillé blanc signé Destigny à Rouen. Socle rectangulaire à angles abattus orné d'une frise en bas relief d'un amour jouant avec trois musiciennes. Pieds griffes sommés de feuillages. Mouvement à fil.

A gilt bronze clock representing a Leda sitting next to a patinated bronze Swan, on a rock, with a dial centered, next to it an urn with pouring water. The rectangular base is decorated with stylized flowers, two swans on each side of a fountain.
Very good condition.

Pendule en bronze doré représentant Léda assise au côté d'un cygne en bronze patiné, sur un rocher, avec un cadran intégré. L'ensemble repose sur une base rectangulaire ornée de motifs floraux avec deux cygnes de part et d'autre d'une vasque.

An important chimney garniture in gilt and patinated bronze and Sienna marble, including a clock and a pair of five lights candelabras. The clock represent Chronos and a putti on a boat terminated with swans.

Importante garniture de cheminée en bronze patiné, bronze doré et marbre de sienne. Elle comprend une pendule représentant “Le voyage de l'Amour et du Temps” sur une nef à cols de cygne posée sur une base à pieds griffes simulant la mer et deux candélabres à cinq lumières.
Pendule : 48 x 55 cm - Candélabres : Hauteur : 60 cm
Ce thème, inspiré de la chanson “Le voyage de l'Amour et du Temps”, composée sous la Révolution française par Joseph-Alexandre de Ségur (1756-1805), fut souvent illustré au XIXe siècle.
