A pair of early 19th century oval miniatures on ivory showing the portrait of the Baronne and the Baron Louis Jacques Amiot inside of two wood frames decorated with gilt metal patterns.
Signed '...Mercier' and '...Mercier.1833', the first inscribed with 'Baronne Louis Jacques Amiot née Aglaé Louise Tage 1833' and the second 'Baron Louis Jacques Amiot 1828'.
Very good condition.

Une paire de miniatures ovales sur ivoire du début du XIXème siècle. Il s'agit du portrait et de la Baronne et du Baron Louis Jacques Amiot dans deux cadres en bois décorés de motifs en métal doré.
Signés '...Mercier' et '...Mercier.1833', la première inscrite 'Baronne Louis Jacques Amiot née Aglaé Louise Tage 1833' et la seconde 'Baron Louis Jacques Amiot 1828'.
Mlle Hyacinthe Mercier travailla comme miniaturiste à Paris où elle habita 27 rue Neuve Saint Rochet exposa au Salon de 1808 et 1810. Elle peignit dans la manière des élèves d'Aubry, en traits croisés formant pointillé. Les lumières des cheveux sont faites à la gouache. Ses oeuvres ressemblent à celles de Mme Rivière.

A painting executed with the "fixé sous verre" tecnique, representing a landscape with, on the foreground, two women figures on a pathway surrounded by rocks and trees. Behind them is a river in the middle of which there is a little island with a church and, far in the back of the picture, we can see some hills with clouds. The gilt wood frame is sculpted with floral patterns.

Un tableau fixé sous verre, représentant un paysage avec au premier plan deux silhouettes de femmes sur un sentier, des rochers et des arbres. Au loin on peut voir un fleuve au milieu duquel se trouve une ile avec une église et, au fond, des collines surmontées de nuages. Le cadre ovale en bois doré est sculpté de motifs floreaux.

A Guerrini's painting representing four women dancing: their bodies, drawn with that synthetic and clean sign which is a characteristic of his work, stand out against the whirl of colours and movement of the background. Oil on wood, signed bottom right. Guerrini was born near Siena, Tuscany (Italy) in 1938. He begins his studies in the Art Institute of Siena but he wasn't keen on the teaching which was too academic. Therefore he starts working in a ceramic workshop in Siena, continuing his art studies by himself. His first personal exhibition, which took place in 1961 was very successful, on the spectators as well as on the critic's viewpoint. He received many prices and periodically exhibits in Italian art galleries.

Un tableau de Guerrini représentant des femmes qui dansent, leurs corps rendus avec ce trait net et synthétique qui le caractérise se détachant du tourbillon coloré que forment presque indistinctement leurs robes et le fond.
Huile sur bois, signature en bas à droite. Guerrini est né dans la province de Sienne en Toscane (Italie) en 1938. Il commence des études à l'Institut d'art de Sienne mais, n'appréciant pas l'enseignement trop académique il commence à travailler comme céramiste dans un atelier à Sienne tout en continuant seul sa formation. Il organise sa première exposition personnelle en 1961 et obtient un grand succès du public et des critiques. Il expose depuis périodiquement dans des galleries en Italie et a obtenu de nombreux prix de la critique.

Set of six oval paintings on porcelain in the taste of the XVIIIth century representing, in a bucolic setting: the bird's cage, the bird's net, angling, the swing, the blind man's bluff game and the putti. The original giltwood frames are carved with flowers and ringed with pearls.

Rare suite de six peintures sur porcelaine de forme ovale dans le goût du XVIII° siècle représentant dans un cadre bucolique: la cage aux oiseaux, le filet aux oiseaux, la pêche à la ligne, la balançoire, le jeu de colin-maillard, et des angelots. Les cadres en bois doré gravés de fleurs et cerclés de perles sont d'époque.
