This piece dates to Egypt's XXVIth Dynasty, circa 664-525 BCE.
This is a bronze statue depicting the God of the Underworld, Osiris. This piece retains it's suspension loop on the reverse, indicating that it was worn during ancient times. Height: 37 mm.
Condition: Intact and choice. A nice piece made in solid casting. This is not a hollow casting.
A peculiar aspect of the Bronze Osiris figures is the way each one can be identified in terms of it's region of manufacture - if hands are placed one above the other, the piece was made in the north, Lower Egypt. If the hands are positioned together at the fists, as seen here, then the piece was made in Middle Egypt. If the piece was made in Upper Egypt, from Abydos to Aswan, then the hands will be depicted crossed on the chest.
Provenance of this piece provided to purchaser.

For your consideration is this FANTASTIC, Ancient Egyptian bronze. It's inlaid with it's original coloured glass. This is extremely rare. The piece itself is the connector for the dangles of a flail, or flagellum of a large statue of Osiris. Judging by this piece's substantial size, the original statue would have measured about 4 FEET TALL!!!This Ancient Egyptian bronze and glass-inlaid Osiris flail is composed of a large section of bronze, beautifully inlaid with red and blue glass. This would have formed part of the flail of a large, bronze statuette of the God Osiris. It is rare for such inlays to survive in such fantastic condition as this. This piece comes from a recently discovered Victorian collection belonging to Henry Wallis (1830-1916) who travelled annually to Egypt selling his finds to museums and collectors to fund his expenses. Also a good friend of Petrie and as an accomplished artist exhibited at the Royal Academy in London. More information regarding henry Wallis provided to the buyer.
Original, old collection label on the reverse.
Measures: 4 cm in length.
Dating to the Late Period of Ancient Egypt 525-332BC.
Provenance provided to purchaser.

Has been professionally conserved, meaning it has had the copper oxides physically removed using an ultra-sonic dental scaler, and the surface has been permanently protected with a special, hydrocarbon/parafin wax designed specifically for this purpose. The wax is known as Degussa EH 100, and is designed specifically for this purpose.
This piece dates to the Late Period in Egyptian history, circa 664-332 BC. Provenance provided to purchaser.

Profusely detailed in it's carving, there are two incised vultures and a beaded blanket draped over the bull's shoulders and hips. Professionally conserved, this piece has no bronze disease whatsoever. Wonderfully detailed facial features and musculature. This is a rare and large example.

This is the SMALLEST ancient Egyptian ushabti I've ever handled. It's made from bronze, and was mistaken for a figure of Osiris, but there are no plumes on the crown, and a discernible seed-sack on the left side of the back, and thus must be a shabti. Bronze shabtis are unusual, and shabtis this small are even rarer!Measures 23.75 mm tall, not including the permanent perspex plinth. Dates to the Late Period, circa 664-332 BC, as the seed sack is on the left side of the back. I would judge that if the seed-sack were in the middle of the back it would date to the Third Intermediate Period or the New Kingdom, but the crude styling and diminutive size, this must be Late Period. Condition: feet missing, but otherwise good. Provenance provided to purchaser.
