This is a fantastic opportunity to own an AUTHENTIC, sizable, Ancient Egyptian Alabaster vessel. The piece dates to the New Kingdom, circa 1250 BC. A fantastic piece in wonderful condition. There are some ancient chips to the surface, but they don't detract from the overall presentation and buttery texture of this beautiful, banded alabaster vessel. Additionally, there is evidence of some organic material remaining inside. Not sure what it is, but I would guess it's residual of khol or another makeup or even some type of unguent or oil. Measures: 73 mm tall. Provenance provided to purchaser.

This is a sweet little amulet depicting a scaraboid. A scaraboid is an amulet which has the shape and intent of a scarab, but without the details. Sometimes carved with a glyph on the back, such as an ankh, this one is plain and unarticulated. It's made from green jasper, a semi-hard gemstone used for amulets and beads throughout the history of ancient Egypt. This piece dates to the New Kingdom in Egyptian history, circa 1539 - 1292 BC. Measures: 13 mm X 11 mm and is pierced lengthwise for suspension on a necklace or placed in the wrappings of a mummy originally. Green jasper was a common stone used in Egyptian votive amulets, as green was considered a colour which represented Regeneration in the Egyptian spectrum of religious ideologies. Condition: This amulet intact, save a few tiny chips to the corners, as seen in the macro photos. Provenance provided to purchaser.

This is an intriguing item. It's a block of limestone dug in Egypt in the 1960's by a husband/wife archaeological team. The piece weighs approximately 8 lbs. Inscribed on one side with what appears to be two lines of ancient Greek text. If anyone can tell me what this says, please don't hesitate to contact me with any information. Measures 7.5" X 5.5". The limestone is soft, Tura limestone usually used by the ancients to carve finely detailed sculpture and wall friezes because of its consistency and soft texture. Provenance provided to purchaser.
