This is a beautiful matching set of mounted boar amulets. Made of highly polished limestone, one is engraved with an insignia on the reverse for making personalized impressions in soft media for identification purposes. These measure 2.75" and 2.9" in length, respectively. Condition: beautifully preserved. Nothing missing on either, though the surfaces are mildly abraded on both, due to their great age. These pieces date to between the first and second millenium BC. Provenances provided to purchaser. These come with papers from the Stolen Art Registry attesting that they were not stolen or illegitimately acquired. They are legitimately available for purchase and sale. Details to purchaser.

This is a fantastic jewelry item from the ancient Parthian peoples of what is now Iran. The piece is hammered and articulated in repousse technique from sheet gold of high karat value, probably 22K+. The design is that of a sunburst. Nicely executed.
The piece measures 16.7 mm in diameter, and it's intact with it's original gold suspension loop. Could be re-mounted and safely worn on your favorite necklace today!
This piece dates to the ancient Parthian peoples, circa 240 BC - 226 AD. A wonderful piece with rich, historical significance.
Provenance provided to purchaser.

This is a fantastically well-preserved set of ancient Luristan bronze warrior's gauntlets. These cuffs are decorated with repousse shapes including rhombi and symmetrical dots. Pierced running the edges for sewing onto a tunic or other armour. Interestingly, the interior of each cuff shows the pattern of human skin where the bronze was mineralizing while attached to the person with whom they were buried. Morbid, yes. But interesting nonetheless. This pattern is visible in the last photo of this listing.
Measuring: Each approximately 4" long.
The set dates to Iran, 1st Millenium B.C.E.
This set comes directly from the Michael C. Carlos Museum collection at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, USA. They were de-accessioned in a trade made with our gallery. Museum numbers are visible in the photos.
A genuine set of Museum-deaccessioned warrior's gauntlets.
