This is a fine example of an ancient Egyptian faience scarab. Dating to the Late Period, circa 664 - 332 BCE, this piece is nearly perfect, save a tiny chip on the underside. A rare aspect of this piece's design is the lateral perforation for suspension. This was likely part of a larger pectoral necklace. This piece is not inscribed, but has an excellent form. Provenance provided to purchaser. |
