This saucer is executed en grisaille in very fine detail of a sleeping cupid, rendered against a very dark cobalt blue ground that almost appears black. The border is richly gilded, and the reverse contains markings that stand for Count Philibert de Custine, who owned the Niderviller factory during this time period. ...click for details
