A Handsome Caucasus Accent Rug, Early 20th century
From our World Handicrafts Collection (ex-Asia), a handsome Caucasus accent rug, early 20th century, featuring wool on wool construction using red, two different blues, dark green, black, peach, orange and gray. A very nice unpretentious example with good character. Though there is a fairly wide spectrum of colors used, the main feeling is mostly of red, gray, and blue, and the overall palette is quite subdued, making this piece very useable in a variety of different decors.

Size and Condition: 7 feet by 4 .5 feet. Moderate wear, medium to low compact pile, one area with a small cluster of moth-eaten damage. There is one subtle stain / area of discoloration towards one fringe which appears to be more the result of an overzealous cleaning than a stain per se.
