Pair of wall brackets by Arlus, Paris
Pair of wall brackets by Arlus, Paris
Brass, steel, rhodoïd
Electric
Circa 1950

Fine pair of wall brackets, model no.1284, by Arlus.
The red canopies act as light diffusers as they are made of perforated steel, somewhat similar to the "rigitulle" sheet used by Mathieu Mategot.
The shades are the originals. They are rhodoïd, a type of cellulose film first made in France in the 1930's.
These brackets feature in several Arlus catalogues from the 1950's.

Dimensions
Height 17.25 in. (43.5 cm.)
Diameter (at top) 7 in. (18 cm.)

Condition : Good overall (some small paint losses to the canopies and wall fixings. One split, about half an inch long, in one of the shades. This is barely visible as the edges marry up perfectly.)
Shipping rates: USA/Canada $80 (total $1005) // Europe/Scandinavia $50 (total $975). For destinations not included here, please enquire.
