Designer's Note

This is one of our first designs, so for us it has sentimental value.

The focal point of this versatile design is in the arms which: (1) are made from two noble woods mahogany with its deep grainy look and aromatic cedar with its wavier, softer surface; (2) have a carved twirl enhancing the artisan quality jointure of the woods; (3) are slightly turned outwards to welcome the user.

Beyond the craftsmanship in the arms, we have discovered the design makes the piece look equally elegant in textiles, leathers or cane, our favorite for tropical settings. The cane backed version in the photo complements any plantation-style room, upholstered in distressed leather she is at home in a gentlemen's club or library , dressed with a animal suede print she is fresh out of Africa.
