3-D marine still life

The fluid motion of this piece subjects tranquility
and a felling of imaginative sophistication.
It’s lines are rythmic, smooth, and allows the space
under its glass breakwater to be unencumbered.
Accenting this work of art in action with ottomans
invites friends to harmonize with its contained freedom.

Design Notes:

This form literally came in a dream.
Turning a dream into a three dimensional object
required working the proportions,curves and joints
of the piece until it became the "frozen movement"
under its glass breakwater.
We liked the results so much we made it useful
with its four ottomans to sit and share intimate moments.

Construction Notes:

The metal skin of this piece was hand cut, beaten,
rolled, made fit and soldered,
first to its inner support structure and then
to each other.
Finally all soldered joints became polished,smooth edges.
