This splendid hanaire (vase) was made by a potter named Unokawa Kazumasa, a master craftsman of Tenmoku pottery, one of the most difficult to make. This particular piece is a more personal work by the potter, who likes to delve into less rigorous creative fields than the domain of Tenmoku ware.
