Set of Two Yunomi by Kato Sho (q)

This beautiful set of two yunomi is part of a wonderful collection of tea cups acquired over many years by a private Japanese collector. Kato Sho (1927-2001) was a major Seto potter, bestowed with some of the most important awards on the Japanese pottery scene and recognized as an Intangible Cultural Property of the Aichi prefecture in 2000; a great achievement. During his prolific career, he exposed in some of the best venues in Japan like the Asahi and Nitten expositions, and exhibited his work abroad as well: United States, Mexico, New Zealand and other countries. The two cups constitute a Meoto; a pair of yunomi to be used by a man and a woman, as one of the cups is larger than the other. Both yunomi are signed, in perfect condition and will be shipped in a signed wooden box. Dimensions: 9 cm x 7 cm (3.6 in x 2.8 in); 7.5 cm x 7 cm (3 in x 2.8 in) Please make sure you read my Sales Policy Page and kindly inquire if you have any question. Some of the pieces presented in this catalog may be acquired through an interest free payment plan.
