Chawan by Shin San Hon
This splendid chawan is part of a wonderful collection of tea bowls acquired over many years by a private Japanese collector.

Shin San Hon is a Korean potter, born in 1947. He started learning pottery in high school and was recognized early on, winning at an Art Exhibition of the Korean Chamber of Commerce, at the age of 21. He has kept accumulating awards and has gone all the way to Boston to teach workshops and the University of Connecticut, as an exchange professor. His alma mater is Hongik University, in Seoul.

This particular bowl presents all the wonderful characteristics of refined Korean wares, in design and flowery motifs. It is amazingly light; the work of a master craftsman.

Please inquire if you have any question.

The chawan is in perfect condition. It will be shipped in a signed box.

The listed price includes shipping by EMS (with insurance and tracking). Dimensions: 14.5 x 5.5 cm (5.8 x 2.2 in)
