Three uniform fragments cut from a larger thangka (result of the Cultural Revolution..) depicting the Bhadrakalpa Buddhas. Each image rendered similar to the others. Colors and ink on treated canvas. Central Tibet, 17–18th cent. Later mounting. Each fragment ca. H. 17 cm. W. 6 cm. (total: H. 17 cm, W. 19 cm).

A large bowl-shaped incense burner of porcelain in powder blue underglaze decorated with two four clawed dragons chasing the magic pearl in gold staffing. The incense burner with three small feet and flat bottom. Qing, mid-19th century. H 11.5 cm, D 21 cm. Condition: Good with some wear to gold.

A small figure carved in a red-beige soapstone (shoushanshi) depicting a lion-monster with its head turned backwards and open mouth. In the bottom of the flat base are two holes which indicates that the piece was used as a toggle. H 3.2 cm. L. 2,5 cm. Qing, 18th cent. or older. Condition: Excellent. Natural wear due to use.

A ceramic figure in red robe of a Daoist immortal on a rockey seat next to a wine pot. A fine example of Chawan pottery from South China (Guangdong province). Figures of this type are sometimes refered to as “mud figures.” China, Qing, ca. 1900. H 18 cm. Condition: Good (tip of one finger missing - see last photo).

An expressive and well-modeled, bronze okimono depicting a bear sitting on its haunches. It has a nice brown patina all-over. Signed on the back: Tamesetsu. The piece is in a modernistic, expressionist style characteristic of bronze figures made during the first decades of the 20th cent. Taisho Period. H 20.5 cm. Condition: Excellent.

A rare and beautiful, flattened form bamboo box with cover, probably used as a seal paste or brush washer. It is finely carved out from the root part of bamboo and nicely polished. Inside the lid a compass (no longer functioning). Qing, 18–19th cent. H 3 cm, D 7,5 cm. Condition: Over-all fine, and really good, old patina and a nice, warm deep honey colour, but with small chip to lid.

Vase of powder-blue porcelain decorated with figures in stylized landscape painted in gold. It has two double rings in underglaze blue in the bottom. Comes with a wooden lid and base from around 1900. China, Qing, Daoguang, ca. 1850. H 30 cm, D 23 cm. Condition: Excellent (minor wear to gold due to handling).

A pair of erotic tanzaku (oblong pictures mounted on thin cardboard for placing on the beams) in an original and very exquisite box made of mottled hardwood. The paintings are in colors and ink and depict a pair of lovers and a half-naked woman displaying her sex respectively. Both have corresponding poems on the back. Meiji, 19th cent. H 36 cm, W 6 cm. Condition: Quite good with only minor foxing. The cardboard on one with a light crack (not visible from the front).
