Rare Daoist images depicting four of the Eight Immortals (baxian) made of padded, colored silk. Mounted on felt. Textile figures of this kind are relatively rare, especially when in good condition. Framed in old gilt frame under glass. Late Qing Dynasty, probably Guangxu. H. 56 cm, W. 38 cm (picture frame). Condition: Excellent. The silk still with fresh colors.

An exceptionally fine quality Set of Insignia Badges for a Civil Official of the 6th Rank. In the center a white crane ( lusi) perched on a rock among waves, while looking toward a bright red sun disk with clouds in the sky. Silk thread, counted stitches tecnique done a extremely refine way. H. 21 x 23, 5 cm. Qing, 18th to early 19th cent. Perfect condition.

A large silk textile of trapezoid form made to be used as Canopy in a Buddhist Lamaist Temple. The textile is composed by different pieces sown together, the center, rectangular one is of deep yellow silk with phoenixes & dragons pattern among clouds; the lateral ones are of triangular shape and have roundelles with 5 claws dragons surrounded by the 8 Buddhist symbols, the silk is of imperial yellow colour. The background in turquoise colour satin, is embroidered with butterflies, bats, different kind of flowers etc., in multicoloured silk floss. Exquisite woman’s outer coat (dayi) of fat, beige silk decorated with flower vases, butterflies, bats, scholar objects, snuff bottles and a four-claw dragon in a variety of techniques including embroidery, needle-loop work, appliqué, thick gold thread and woven silk bands.
