A very fine embroidery on silk with large peonies (mudanghua) in different shades of beige and butterflies (dielianhua). All the borders with a thick, golden thread. Late Qing, ca. 1880/90. Framed under glass. L 37 cm, W 23 cm. Condition: Very good (minor fading).
Fine beige silk robe. The beige ground has woven patterns of flowers and butterflies on which different kind of flowers and large butterflies in multicolored silk floss are embroidered. Borders in dark blue bands with embroidered flowers; cuffs in yellow silk ground with embroidered Immortals in garden scenes. Lining in light blue silk. Central frontal opening. A very good, embroidered satin silk unofficial informal robe for a Manchu lady. The background in turquoise colour satin, is embroidered with butterflies, bats, different kind of flowers etc., in multicoloured silk floss. Borders in black and blue band with embroidered light blue small flowers. Fastened with five knot-end-loop toggle buttons. Lining in light silk. Calf-length type: H. 110 cm; W. 145 cm. Fine silk textile embroidery. It is decorated with scholar's objects, flowers, birds, garden stone and antiques & auspicious fruits. Total size: H. 45 cm W. 41,5 cm. Qing, 19th cent. Condition: very good with just a wear due to use and age. A few loose threads.
Rare Daoist images depicting four of the Eight Immortals (baxian) made of padded, colored silk. Mounted on felt. Textile figures of this kind are relatively rare, especially when in good condition. Framed in old gilt frame under glass. Late Qing Dynasty, probably Guangxu. H. 56 cm, W. 38 cm (picture frame). Condition: Excellent. The silk still with fresh colors.
