A highly interesting vase of earthenware in modified meiping form partly covered in high carbon ashes. Signed Terada Teppei (b. 1975), son of Terada Yasuo 4th generation of the Bizan Kiln in Seto, Aichi. SHIBUTA Toshiaki An attractive and well-sculpted modern, bottle-shaped vase of Bizen-ware. The body of the vase tapers upward to end in a short neck w. a small mouth. The rounded sides are rendered in broad and roughly carved bands running anti-clockwise. A tea bowl (chawan) of porcelain decorated with an unusual, crystalline, golden glaze with small specks of Prussian blue. Made by the important, modern pottery artist Morino Hiroaki Taimei (b. 1934), known for his abstractly decorated and unique pieces. Signed at the bottom. The bowl comes w. a fully signed kiri-box. Heisei, c. 1990. H 7.5 cm, D 11.5 cm. Condition: Perfect but for a few, minute chips to foot rim that do not in any way detract from the beauty of the piece.

An attractive and very sophisticated tea bowl (chawan) made of modern Shino stoneware by ceramic maker Tanaka Akihiko (b. 1954) from Gifu. The bowl is shaped w. a deep, cylindrical well on a low foot. The piece is covered in a thick, white-bluish ash glaze over a stylized decoration in iron resulting in a beautiful finish and an interesting texture.
