An unusual and very rare vase of stoneware by the famous Danish designer and ceramic maker Christian Joachim (1870–1943).* The twisted vase, which has been made to turn clock-wise, is covered in a thick, red-purplish, running glaze. A rare and impressive stoneware figure of a jackal (wild dog) sitting on its haunches while chewing on a bone. Covered with an attractive light brown and bluish, grey glaze that runs at certain places in a harmonious manner. Signed: Knud Max Moeller for B&G (Bing and Groendahl).
