A finely carved image of a standing Bodhisattva (Padmapani?) of dark sandal wood (zitan). Remains gilding. H. 14 cm. Tibet, 16–17th cent. Condition: Very fine, nice wear from handling. One chip to front of lotus base of the lotus stand in the right side.

An interesting and unusual, Buddhist Dehua image of a meditating Luohan overgrown with branches, a well-known motif of the Ming dynasty. Done with very fine details demonstrating a high level of craftsmanship. Hollow modeled. Signed with seal on the back He ...zong. Late Qing to early Republican Period, ca. 1900–1920. H 16 cm. Condition: Excellent.

A small and very finely carved, Buddhist amulet box of tinted ivory with the images of Amida and the two accompanying Bodhisattvas Kannon and Seishi on the inside of the two parts. Signed: Ikko. The outside decorated with a lotus pond in low relief. Edo, early to middle of 19th cent. H 1.5 cm, D 4.6 cm. Condition: Very good with minor wear from use.

A set of 5 large album leaves painted by the established Sichuanese painter Tang Rongxin (b. 1939) done during the late Cultural Revolution period around 1975–77: 1) Boats on a River, 2) A Windswept Landscape, 3) A Pastoral Scene w. water buffaloes, 4) A farm girl, and 5) Landscape w. a river Gorge. Some w. seals, some inscribed. Peoples Republic, mid to late 1970s. Measurements between H 45 cm, L 34 cm and H 22 cm, 40 L cm. (picture frame). Condition: Overall very good.

A very large carving of standing Immortal holding a branch of chrysanthemum flowers on one hand, and a scroll on the other hand. H. 62 cm. ( weight: 2,95 kg.). Late Qing- early 20th c. Condition: Good, but a few small chips at one of the flower petals.

A very attractive and rare lidded jar of heavy stone ware decorated w. red and blue glazes running purple. Lid decorated w. a large crab. Signed: Gunnar Nylund (1904–1987) for Bing & Groendal, Copenhagen. Made during the 1930s, when Nylund’s creativity was at a peak. A real collector’s item. H 15 cm, D 12 cm. Condition: Perfect.

A very nicely carved MINIATURE image of SHOULAO in ivory; he is holding a peach in his left hand and a long stick in his right hand, from which hangs a gourd; at his feet a boy is sitting on deer, and a crane is standing with a lingzhi in his beak: they are all symbolizing “long life” . Middle Qing (Qianlong period). H. 6.8 cm. Very good condition.

A highly attractive and rare item for the scholar’s table in the form of a miniature table made of lacquer inserted into a delicately worked silver frame (with silver mark = pure silver ). Decorated with a peach branch on the surface in raised and coloured lacquer on a brownish makie-e ground. Late Edo–early Meiji, 19. cent. L. 15 cm, D. 8 cm, H 3,5 cm. Condition: Over-all very good, with the exception of 2 minute chips in one corner (see pics 10).

A pair of modern raku, tea bowls ‘Sun and Moon’ types the first with gold on the interior, the other with silver. Made by Shoraku, 3rd generation from Kyoto. Impressed raku seal mark. Inscribed and sealed kiri-box with papers. Late Showa, ca. 1980. Moon, diam:17 cm. Sun, diam: 14 cm. Condition: Very fine with minimal wear to inner surfaces due to use.
