An expressive and well-carved ivory image of a standing LUOHAN with an acolyte and a fo-dog. Remains of dark color. Fitted and carved base of hongmu. Late Qing, c. 1900. H 26 cm (without base). CONDITION: Over-all very good, no losses or chips, but w. age cracks in two places.
A very nicely carved MINIATURE image of SHOULAO in ivory; he is holding a peach in his left hand and a long stick in his right hand, from which hangs a gourd; at his feet a boy is sitting on deer, and a crane is standing with a lingzhi in his beak: they are all symbolizing “long life” . Middle Qing (Qianlong period). H. 6.8 cm. Very good condition
