An interesting and rare votive image of coloured wood depicting Naro-dakini, the consort of the Mahasiddha Naropa. She is standing on two recumben corpses (Shiva and Mahadevi) drinking from her skull-cup (kapala) while holding the vajra-chopper in the right hand. She wears the garland of skulls around her neck. Behind is a large oval mandorla with flaming edges. Tibet, 18th cent. (possible even older). H 22 X 17 cm. Condition: Good w. natural wear and a few minor chips to edges.

Votive image in blackish-purple sandal-wood (zitan) of the important Bon lama Namye (the Peerless) Sherab Gyaltsen (1356–1416), great scholar and organizer of the monastic life of the Bonpo; he is the founder of the monastery of Menri located between Lhasa and Shigatze in Central Tibet in 1405. He is here depicted w. the special Bön crown and from his two hands emanate a pair of lotuses on which are a sword and a holy book respectively.
