A large and finely carved brushpot of ivory decorated w. Daikoku and Ebisu on one side and Hotei with children on the other side. Some areas coloured a light brown. Signed: Sashi + insect mark in the bottom. Meiji, ca. 1900. H. 14 cm, W. 12 cm. Condition: Perfect.
A pipe case (kiseruzutsu) of carved stag antler. The finely carved design shows a bird on a flowering branch above a garden rock. Unsigned. Edo, 19th century. L 20 cm. Condition: Good, but w. minor chipping around opening and higher flower.
Large-size incense-box (kogo) of ivory in a nice rounded design. Opens in two with a finely carved thread. The inside with gold lacquer on black ground (a small piece of natural fragrant incense wood included). Fitted, old silk purse. Late Edo–early Meiji, 19. cent. H 3,5 cm, D 8 cm. Condition: Very fine. Wear to lacquer inside. No chips or cracks.
Pipe case (kiseruzutsu) in stag antler with attached tobacco pouch made of leather and ojime in agate. The clasp of the pouch is made of silver and copper in the form of a nyoi and a koro. Unsigned. Japan, Edo period, first half of 19th cent. L 22.5 cm (pipe case). Condition: Very good.
