A rare and highly attractive tea bowl (chawan) of Black Oribe ware in irregular shape on a smaler, central foot. The flattened shape is accenturated by an abstract pattern in 2 different glaze tones, silvery black and a deep grey, which cover both the outside as well as the inside of the bowl. In addition there are 3 sets of triple, incised lines to the body. Edo, late 17th cent. H 7,4 cm, W 14,5 cm. Later kiri-box. Condition: Perfect.

Fine, round and slightly compressed incense box (kogo) of lacquer with design in the form of stylized wave and fishing nets in gold hira- and takamakie, okibirame, and mura-nashiji on roiro ground. Signed with Chidori mark. Meiji, ca. 1900. Diam. cm. 7 cm. Original box. Mint condition.
