A rare and very fine portrait-plaque painted in grisaille on high-quality porcelain depicting an elderly gentleman by the name Mr. Yu Tangzhong. It was based on a photo from a photographic studio, the Leiguang Huaxiangshe located on Dazhonglu in Jiujiang, Sichuan. On the backside a one-line inscription with the date 1937 and information to the effect that it was made by the artist Zhong Enfeng at Jingdezhen in Jiangxi Province. H 32 cm, W 21.5 cm. CONDITION: Perfect.

A very fine and beautiful, square, black lacquer tray for an incense burner (korobon) to be used in the tea ceremony. Decorated on top with a light, reddish-orange design to emulate a hazy moon among clouds. On four legs and w. delicate brass fittings at the corners. Signed kiri-box with the artist´s name Hyoeto and dating, Showa 3 (1928). H 2,5 cm, 25,7 cm square. Condition: Excellent.
