A rare, small image of the crazy Buddhist saint Qigong
A rare, small bronze image of the ‘crazy’ Buddhist saint Qigong who lived in Hangzhou during the Southern Song (1127–1276). He wears flowing garbs and the characteristic pointed cap. He holds his main attribute, the plantain fan in his left hand and the other on the back. China, Qing, 18th-19th cent. H 11 cm. Condition: Very good w. minimal traces of wear.
