18th Century Louis XV faience pitcher, France. A rare offering of a barbotine (raised figural details) large milk pitcher. The pouring spout is the head of a rooster, or cockerel; the head and trim details in dark sage green pigment. The figural details are leaves,fruit and classical embelishments Pitcher is most likely Strasborg in origin.

Large service pieces are extremely scarce from the 18th century...Milk pitchers were knocked over by children, and of course France was ravaged by many wars.

Green was a color seldom used alone.

Dimensions: 8.5 Inches (22cms) Height x 9 Inches (23cms) Width

Condition: Excellent for period. Minor rubs, small scratches. The interior was painted overglaze with milk paint, flaking,underglaze showing in spots.

A rare Eastern French FAIENCE plate in red-pink, green, and blue enamels of a noble fierce eagle wearing a crown from the Strasbourg region, Les Islettes or Luneville, dating to early 19th century. The plate is exceptional in detail, finely painted and superbly colored in the enamels typical of Eastern French faience of the 18th century. The fiesty eagle symbolizes Napoleon. If so the plate dates accuarately expect the date 1810, before Napoleon was defeated by Wellington at Waterloo in 1815. The 8.34 Inch plate is in very fine condition except for some very minor edge glaze wear or loss, typical of early faience.

An unusual French hand painted porcelain portrait plate, circa 1860 of a beautiful French girl, barefoot, spinning yarn onto a bobbin. The figure is dressed in provincal costume, and poses amidst a lovely pastoral scene. The artist has signed the plate on the right bottom, though readable it is hard to decipher the handwritting. The plate bears an unusual backstamp of a heraldric lion with shield and banner, several impressed hallmarks. There is a manufacturers name, but it is obliterated. Veuve Perrin, 18th century pate tendre or soft paste mirror. A stunning rarity which somehow managed to survive the French Revolution. Masterful and incredible artistry in palette and design.

Unsigned. Please enjoy the photos. Dimensions: 20 Inches x 12.25 Inches

Condition: Very good. Mirror is intact, no repairs. A few age cracks in the frame which are stabilized. Mirror was just shipped from France with no changes in condition.

A fine EUGENE CLAUSS figural porcelain French Noblewoman ,signed on base with crossed swords E above C below, dates to 1850's

Use of the Meissen crossed swords mark resulted in a law suit by KPM Meissen. The E C between the swords stand for (Marc) Eugene Clauss grandson of Jean-Marie Clauss who purchased the Paris manufactory from Jean-Baptiste Locre in 1820.

Eugene Clauss is highly sought by collectors of French and Meissen collectors for the exceptional artistic details.

Condition: The 250 year old box has had several interesting restorations which appear professional in its history. There are glazed areas, filled hairlines, and stablized chacks. Obviously much loved and valued.
