Signed as shown on base; a stunning example of Italian Florentine faienza. Snake handles, grotesques, lots of hand painted detail here. Retains original cork seal. Inscribed in Latin around the rim, peasants circling the box,Fleur de Lis motif as well all in relief. It is believed that this may have been a commerative gift to guests at an important wedding.
