Full bodied copper weathervane trotting horse, original gold leaf, pre 1880, well documented in American Folk Art books.
I have owned this weathervane for twenty five years. Wonderful original gold leaf, Folk art as good as can be found. Touches of verdigris and soft mellow patina. Definitely a stallion.
Stand included.Displays magnificently.
Condition: excellent, as shown, normal wear of a period item. May have very old repair to right hind leg between fetlock and hock.
