This adorable benevolent imp is about 11 1/2" tall,to the top of his horn, and his body is about 5". Wonderful rich cobalt blue glaze on Shiwan (Shekwan) stoneware body. Here is a fine pair of Sancai glazed pottery Foo Lions. The figurenes are hand thrown and one of a kind, solid pottery.I am conservatively estimating these as early 19th century, they are most likely considerably older. They are unmarked. Dimension: to be added Condition: Excellent. One very small chip on the tail end of one lion (see photo) which could be easily repaired if desired, no frits or cracks or other damage

A most unique and wonderfully sinister pair of horned bearded and masked KYLIN figurines in rich turquoise with a dark drip aubergine glaze over the blue. The stoneware MIRROR IMAGE (possibly Shiwan) figurenes are hollow bodied with exceptional attention to form and color. This benevolent but in this case menacing duo will be sensational addition to your collection, guaranteed to scare off intruders. I have never seen any KYLIN that compare in form or unique style. A definite statement. the pair is signed on the rear feet. Condition: Excellent with absolutely no damage.
