Rare 19th century foliate rim Japanese Nabeshima oval dish. Raised details accented by gilt. Foliate rim has lovely soft blue waves. Foot rim has high comb pattern and exterior cobalt floral scrolling. A superior four color plate.

Condition: Condition very fine. A few under rim frits on inner side of foot, appropriate to age, otherwise excellent, no hairlines or top chips.

BLACK LACQUER KODANSU JEWELERY CHEST, Edo late 19th Century.
Exceptionally fine miniature Japanese black lacquer Kodansu with three enclosed drawers, each with a tooled pull. The openwork floral hinges and findings are delicate with tiny hand made nails which have finishing details also.
A magnificent painted cockerel in bamboo and rock work done in high relief guards the door. Chrysanthemums and foliage highlight the sides and top. A rare collectors work of art.

Condition: Very good for age. Some age appropriate wear to edges and lacquer as can be expected of am early cosmetic box. All findings are intact and original with one left front foot guard missing. If desired a rear guard could be moved to front.

This is a very nicely done large OX BLOOD vase, made into a lamp with beautifully painted figures in cavettos on front and reverse. The oxblood vase dates to the 1890's, or earlier.
The vase is signed on base, and the lamp is in good working order. *Note: Lamp is not damaged by wiring, as wire goes through vase opening in rear.

With shade 27"(68.50cm)
Condition: Excellent, no chips or damage. Some light wear to gilt on top rim. Sells with shade in excellent condition.
