Here is a beautifully carved early pair of Japanese Shishi in fine gilt on red lacquer over wood. They are most likely temple carvings, and have been mounted previously. These 19th century, or earlier figures are from Japan, purchased in Hawaii. The charming pair display beautifully and are in excellent condition.
Condition: Fine, wear appropriate to the period.
