SHERRI GARNER ANTIQUES AND FINE ART

SOLD TO DALLAS TEXAS, THANK YOU
|
Here is a very large and well cared for pair of really impressive Foo Lions, or Foo Dogs. This is the nicest pair I have had in this style, and also by far the largest at 14 1/4". Sensational color and painting, not found in the new dogs. This particular figurene has been made since the Ming Dynasty, and have been perhaps the most loved and popular of all the Chinese porcelain animals. The colors are exceptionally brilliant, and the details are well executed and pleasing. A great and early pair numbered and signed with impressed character mark on one, and the other with only the numeral 26.
Dimensions: Height 14 1/4"(36cm) The Foos,10" Bases: 4 1/4" (10.5cm)length,3"(7.5cm) across the front base.
Condition: Excellent, no damage, great enamels and colors, a bit of discoloration on the base underside bottoms.
