A bold and exotic CHINESE IMARI signed FOO LION PLATE (Qianlong mark)ost likely Republic Period. This is a startling and vivid rendition of a powerful FOO,or SHISHI with deep rich Wegedwood blue rim, and exceptional gilt, with embossed leaves. The enamels are especially fine. Plate displays beautifully.
Dimensions: 9 1/2"
Condition: Excellent. As shown with no damage or losses. Signed on reverse.

I am pleased to offer an elegant and refined early 19th century BLUE AND WHITE, "Sometsuke" vase. This magnificent vase features unparalleled workmanship and potted and painted in the manner of fine Chinese porcelain in the Japanese endeavor to capture a share of the profitable Dutch porcelain trade. Exquisitely crafted porcelain such as this vase featuring superbly painted birds and floral figurals are rarely found except in the best private collections, as was the case with this vase which was brought from Holland to the US by the collectors family.
The vase is in pristine condition, acquired from a California collector who has had the piece in her family in Holland for many generations. This vase is unsigned.
Dimensions: Height 12 1/4"
Condition: Excellent, a cabinet piece. No chips,cracks of hairlines.

A very fine and large (18 1/4"46.50cm) pre 1920 Chinese Export pictoral vase. A beautiful vase of unusual size and fine porcelain. These early Famille Rose vases are rapidly becoming very expensive and scarce. Large vases such as this one are selling for more than twice the price offered. Nicely hand painted details of court scene. Unmarked.

MUCH COPIED,Fantastic and magnificent original heavy sterling silver over bronze, massive FOO LIONS , a fine beautifully matched pair of strongly detailed and powerful sculptures from the late Qing Dynasty.
This pair is the prototype used for casting more recent copies in base metals and ceramic seen a few years ago. There are no marks or signature.
Dogs are seated, wearing ornate collars with bats, and bell. Wonderful details to mane, tails and heads. Male has brocade ball under foot, female with puppy. Female is about 11", male 10 7/8"
