SOLD WITH MUCH THANKS TO NEW YORK
|
This elegant small porcelain vase is from Monaco. The vase (I looked up the website of "Manufacture De Monaco" which is on the base) has exceptional fine painting and the most intricate gilt details on nearly translucent ground. The manufacturer is famous for producing equisite limited edition tableware and collectors pieces. This vase bears the coat of arms of the royal Grimaldi Family which has two monks in claret flanking the gilt shield. Signed on the base by the designer Eric Rozewicz, the vase dates to the 1970's.
Dimensions : Height 6"
Condition: Excellent, no damage

Americana Jockey and race horse in original paint.
This charming piece came from a steeplechase arcade game at Roseland Park in Canandaigua, New York, an amusement park that no longer exists. Bronze, possibly brass a magnet does not stick, and there is a yellow color coming through where the paint has chipped off. It has substantial weight for size.
A great piece of amusement park history. Stand is newer, displays figure in racing or jumping position

Wonderful underglaze copper red and blue extremely massive vase of a fierce dragon chasing a flaming pearl, with a splendid articulated five toed copper red and blue dragon applied in high bas relief. Twentieth centiruy, probably dates to 1960.
This is a complex vase, with waves and carp on the bottom,a fabulous painted writhing dragon, and bas relief applied menacing open mouthed beast encircling all.
I am unsure of the date of this vase, I have not seen anything to compare.

CANTAGALLI signed majolica is treasured among collectors. This outstanding large pair of reticulated porcelain lamps has all the desireable details so sought by this wonderful Italian Majolica manufacturer.
From the top of the incredible gilt finials to the serpents and figural heads these lamps just jumpout. Bold majolica is contrasting greens and pinks really set off a RETRO feel, with age old Italian Majolica.
The lamps are signed with the Cantagalli name, rooster and Italy.
Dimensions: To be added (very large)
Condition: Excellent. A small chip on the snout of one of the sea serpents, looks big in the enlargement, but is really minor and easily repairable. See photo #9.
