Here is a beautiful and unusual post WWII large Japanese, or Japanese style pottery vase. This could be California pottery, but vase is unsigned and I can not say for sure. There is a strong 1950's feel and look to this piece. The detailed hand painted flowering cherry blossoms, and red florals are accentuated by a pair of long tailed teal birds. Delicate and subtle, yet imposing. The vase presents very well, the body being a cream with crackle glaze. The bold size is great for decorating. Dimensions: Height 9 1/2"(24cm) Width 12"(30.50cm) Mouth Opening 3 3/4"(9.50cm) Condition: Excellent, no chips, hairlines or frits.

Here is a striking SHISHI, or Foo Lion in rich gray and white tones. In the manner of the Kutani porcelains this work is beautifully detailed and well balanced. The figurene is unmarked and probably dates to 1960's. This wonderful Shi is SIGNED in script on his left lower back, Yoshimi. Condition: Excellent, no damage of any kind. Here is a wonderful hand thrown Japanese SHINO POTTERY OKIMONO, asigned rendition of a very fierce SHISHI, or Foo Lion. This is a particularly nice and unusual one of a kind sculpture, in white pottery with a clear overglaze glaze. The sculpture is marked with an impressed SHINO signature on base. Condition: Excellent, no chips, frits or damage, Dimensions: Height 4" Length 5"
