SAMSON porcelain is one of my favorite things to collect. I am pleased to offer this delightful large and unusual box in the form of stacked books.
This is very typical of the Armorial works of Samson of Paris, made to imitate Chinese Export. Many collectors believe Samson did better copies than the originals.
The box and gilt rim is all intact and the polychrome details are sharp, highlighted by the embossed raised details so familiar to Samson.
I can not tell you if the box is signed as the bottom is covered with old green felt. However, I can tell you that Samson prices are skyrocketing as pieces are grabbed up by collectors! This box is very special.
*PLEASE SEE MY OTHER SAMSON PORCELAINS.

$1750 SOLD WITH MUCH THANKS TO BRAZIL

A most unique and wonderfully sinister pair of horned bearded and masked KYLIN figurines in rich turquoise with a dark drip aubergine glaze over the blue. The stoneware MIRROR IMAGE (possibly Shiwan) figurenes are hollow bodied with exceptional attention to form and color. This benevolent but in this case menacing duo will be sensational addition to your collection, guaranteed to scare off intruders. I have never seen any KYLIN that compare in form or unique style. A definite statement. the pair is signed on the rear feet.
Condition: Excellent with absolutely no damage.
Dimensions: 11"(28cm) from top of horn to base
7"(18cm) from front paws to rear
6"(15cm) width
