Underglaze blue and white Sometsuke vase, most likely Hirado or Arita Thickly potted, the 10" (25.5cm) vase is encircled by two white scaled dragons in high relief on a floral background. The neck is highlighted by four car touches, two scenic, two Peony floral. Foliate rimmed,there are leaves and florals inside the vase neck. The glaze has a soft celadon cast, with pooled celadon glaze on base. Condition: Excellent. Slight wear typical of the period, no chips or cracks. Dimensions: 10"(25.5cm)

Unusual and very rare REVERSE PAINTING ON MIRRORED GLASS, circa late 18th early 19th century, Chinese Export, of a delightful young Chinese child playing with a cricket. The painting, done on mirrored glass is an exceptional find not only in age and quality, but subject matter. Children were very rarely depicted in these period paintings, as the market was made to appeal to merchants and sailors visiting China on long journeys. The subject, a young boy with bound pigtails is richly dressed, charming and winsome. The soft colors of the portrait are pleasing to the eye. Perfect to blend with most decorating schemes. The original beaded wooden frame is hand chamfered and in good condition, measuring 12.5 " x 16.5 " The painting was purchased from a prominent old estate in California. Condition: Very good. Here is a much copied wonderful eggshell porcelain covered ginger jar with the EIGHT IMORTALS in repousse or bas relief. Highly detailed and finely painted enamels. Immortal on Jar lid in bas relief also. Delightful collectors piece, not a recent copy, Qianlong signature, but 19th century. About 6" in height. Condition: Very good. A few small rim frits. No chips or hairlines.

This is an exceptionally carved and especially pleasing late Qing Dynasty FOO DOG and PUPPY carved of fine lavender jadite. Sculpted in great detail this is a fairly large carved work. Mamma and her puppy with a brocade ball and bilowing ribbon are totally adorable. The Foos recline on a detailed carved and cut out plinth made especially for the sculpture. This very special winsome sculptural carving dates to turn of the century or earlier. If there is such a thing as personality in carving, it shows in this figural sculpture. VICTORIAN twisted wire and wood covered box for in original chocolate brown paint. This covered basket was used to protect cakes and pastries on the Victorian Tea table from insects. The ornately twisted wire and screen panels are set into a wooden frame and fits snuggly on lower wooden case. Dimensions: 10"(25.50cm) Height to finial from base 10"(25,50cm) Width Condition: Very good for period. One twisted wire is missing from the top. Screen is all intact, some separation along one edge. All original.
