CHINESE PEWTER KOI TUREEN,QING DYNASTY
Here is a most unique and charming Chinese pewter KOI fish compote. The compote dates to the first quarter or the 19th century, or earlier. The pewter is tooled in a simple rustic pattern used on pewter items of this period. The eyes are clear hand blown glass, and the pewter is soft and malable. The fish compote is signed on the fishes forehead. This item is all original with no replacements.
This charming compote has been viewed and dated by Warren Imports of Laguna Beach California. Please see his companion #427359 a really wonderful pewter fish tea pot offered here as well.
Dimensions: 14" Length
7" Height
Condition: Excellent, some normal wear typical of the period. No repairs. Pewter is soft and can be bent.
