JAPANESE EXPORT COCOON VASE, SHOWA
Here is a beautiful and unusual post WWII large Japanese, or Japanese style pottery vase. This could be California pottery, but vase is unsigned and I can not say for sure. There is a strong 1950's feel and look to this piece.
The detailed hand painted flowering cherry blossoms, and red florals are accentuated by a pair of long tailed teal birds. Delicate and subtle, yet imposing. The vase presents very well, the body being a cream with crackle glaze. The bold size is great for decorating.
Dimensions: Height 9 1/2"(24cm)
Width 12"(30.50cm)
Mouth Opening 3 3/4"(9.50cm)
Condition: Excellent, no chips, hairlines or frits.
