| Triptych on wood panels of the Madonna and infant Christ. The serene Madonna is flanked by clarion heralding angels on the side panels, musical angels on the reverse. The central panel includes subtle symbolic details such as the World Orb, and the Twelve Apostles bordering the Cavetto Exceptional original gold leaf, on tempera, and rare sgraffito embossed detail in the coronas (halos). A masterful and exceptional art work, most likely Sienese or Venitian, late 14th or early 15th century. Magnificent front and reverse.
