SCEAUX TUREEN, 18TH CENTURY FRANCE,SIGNED
SCEAUX PANTHEIVRE, circa 1760 Paris, France signed on foot "S.X." An incredible garden of repousse beets, artichokes, turnips, carrots and leaves adorn the lid, and the body of the tureen or soupere has portrait vignettes of vermillion cherubs, or angelot. The tureen is a masterpiece of Louis XVI style, worthy of the Louve or your unparelleld collection of exquisite French masterpieces. The tureen was manufactured prior to the period of Richard Glot 1772-1796, "S.X." being the mark of the earliest SCEAUX PANTHEIVRE faiencerie. The piece is consistent with the coloration and style (lack of stilt marks) of companion pieces in the Louvre. Dimensions: Length 15.25 Height: 12.75 Inches Interior 10.25 Inches Condition: Excellent, no repairs
