| An unusual French hand painted porcelain portrait plate, circa 1860 of a beautiful French girl, barefoot, spinning yarn onto a bobbin. The figure is dressed in provincal costume, and poses amidst a lovely pastoral scene. The artist has signed the plate on the right bottom, though readable it is hard to decipher the handwritting. The plate bears an unusual backstamp of a heraldric lion with shield and banner, several impressed hallmarks. There is a manufacturers name, but it is obliterated.
