Chinese Longquan Celadon Large Size Vase by Lu Wei-Sun

Chinese Longquan Celadon Large Vase by Lu Wei-Sun

A well potted large size vase with nice celadon color tone and good shape. It is the celadon artist Mr. Lu Wei-Sun’s style except the Di Kiln celadon tone that is hard to find from his recent works. The vase is decent and large enough for any lobby and hall in buildings.

The vase is in perfect condition except one light linear mark (see photo) caused by natural firing process and Lu Wei-Sun’s signature on base and certificate with box from his workshop.

Year: 2007

Mouth Rim: 11cm

Height: 23cm

Lu Wei-Sun was born in 1962 at Longquan City of Zhejiang Province. He started his potter career at Celadon Research Institution of Longquan since his graduation from local ceramics professional school in 1983. After few years work Lu Wei-Sun went to the Ceramics Department of China Art Academy for further study the in-depth theory and advance skills. In 1997 Lu built his workshop and kiln after his career at Celadon Research Institution of Longquan.

Lu Wei-Sun is a true celadon artist who concentrates all his effort in potting innovation. He believes that simple is beautiful. He not only keeps challenging the extreme of Longquan celadon size but put many innovations during the potting process. It is said that Lu Wei-Sun artwork’s visual effect starts from close watching. The observer will be inspired from the combination of shape, color tone and glaze pattern.

As today Lu Wei-Sun is the Arts and Crafts Master of Zhejiang Province in China.
