This lotus vase is similar to the previous introduced Ge/Di-Kiln clay peony floral vase by Chen Ai-Ming. However on this vase the mono bluish glaze was applied with different visual effect. In accordance with Chen’s quote, the ‘HARMONY’ calms people’s mind via its color tone and combination textures from slanting-knife, carving and incising skills. It is one of Chen’s best mono bluish glaze artwork in recent years.

Due to the shape of vase the bluish glaze is accumulated on neck and base. In addition to the three beautiful lotuses Chen Ai-Ming also created a very detailed incise textures on the neck and lower part of the vase. It is rare to find Chen’s banana leave but showed up here on the lower part of this vase. The purple color decoration on the mouth rim creates another beautiful visual effect on the vase. That is why Chen Ai-Ming called “Mr. Detail” within Longquan celadon artists.

The ‘HARMONY’ Bluish Celadon Peony Vase is in perfect condition and Chen Ai-Ming’s signature on base with certificate signed and wooden box form his workshop.
