Chinese Longquan Celadon Ge Kiln Dark Stoneware Cup with Spot Decoration
These are classic dark stoneware cups with iron-red flowing glaze spot on the body. The spotting decoration on celadon ware started from Chinese Northern Song Dynasty (960 – 1127AD) for a while but dismissed shortly. Later to Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644AD) celadon ceramist recovered the skill and maintained its style until early Qing Dynasty (1644 – 1911AD).
Due to dark stoneware body the mouth rim shows the visual effect of ‘purple-mouth’ after firing. The glaze at the foot rim also shows very nice jade-like color. For the spot with light over-glazing the firing effect is smoky adn on the other hand the heavy one is flowing beautifully. None of the six cups is identical with each other.
The cups are in perfect condition with wooden box for each pair. Please tell us you location for freight/handling quotation. We also welcome dealership for this kind of interesting and stylish cup. |
