Iconic Chinese Export "Deshima Island" plate dating to the Yongzheng period. The view on this well-known blue and white pattern has long been called Deshima Island (near Nagasaki), the V.O.C. headquarters in Japan from 1641-1862, but more likley depicts the Dutch coastal town Scheveningen. Fine 18th century, Qianlong period, octagonal meat platter with "orange peel" glaze and canted corners. About 18.5 cm (7.25") x 13.5 cm (5-3/8") x 2.75 cm (1.125"). Exquisitely hand painted with dark underglaze cobalt blue. One glaze frit to the rim, which cannot be seen from the front. Larger close-ups provided on request. This item is located in Hawaii. Fine blue and white charger from the Kangxi period (1662-1722) with rim dressed in iron red. In the cavetto, a young boy is seated on the patio of a pavilion with a large urn of flowers behind him. The flat rim is decorated with sacred symbols related to scholarship. About 10.79" (27cm) x 1.06" (2.7cm). Perfect condition: No chips, frits, cracks, hairlines, craquelature or repairs. This piece is located in Germany, and shipping is included in our price.
