A good Chinese bronze vase of square beaker form with cast decoration in archaistic style . The upper part of the vase decorated with stiff leaf and shallow curving flanges to the corners. The mid section decorated with reserves of Taoitie masks framed by Liewen borders with rectangular cast flanges to the corners. A fine Kakiemon type dish painted in undeglaze blue and additional enamels and gilding and decorated with a border pattern of Pheasants, kiji and Autumn flowers, Omaneshi, Patrina, Japanese Asters, and, Kikyo, Bell flowers, and a simple Sansui landscape to the central reserve. The dish is painted with Kure, chestnuts, a popular seasonal motif emblematic of Autumn. Unusually the design is largely drawn with a matt iron brown enamel rather the more usual matt black enamel, which is limited to the veining of the leaves. The porcelain has a distinct greenish blue caste to its glaze, and the unglazed footrim has a slightly orange tone with some sand adhesions.
