A sturdily constructed Henan stoneware bottle with slightly iridescent glaze. About 5-1/2" H x 4-1/4" W at shoulder. Excellent condition and color with no damage. A brownish slip glaze was applied to the biscuit and a second darker glaze applied over it. As you may see, chocolate brown shows through mainly at the shoulder, mouth and base. Additional images on request. Henan black glazed wares date from the Song through the Qing dynasties. Insured shipping at cost.

A late Kangxi or early Yongzheng saucer dish, c 1710-25 decorated with an incised scrolling arabesque to the front and a capuchin light iron brown glazed reverse, and enamelled with a Turkish style enamel pattern of Ogival form reserves and a central Khatam style motif containing both within and without stylised flower.
