A good Chinese bronze vase of square beaker form with cast decoration in archaistic style . The upper part of the vase decorated with stiff leaf and shallow curving flanges to the corners. The mid section decorated with reserves of Taoitie masks framed by Liewen borders with rectangular cast flanges to the corners. A blue and white ewer with silver mounts. Perfect condition with no chips, frits, cracks, hairlines or repairs. Transitional, Chongzhen period (1628-1644). Made for the Dutch market, the pear-shaped body raised on a waisted pedestal foot and painted with a scene of scholars drinking wine and conversing in a landscape setting. A sturdily constructed Henan stoneware bottle with slightly iridescent glaze. About 5-1/2" H x 4-1/4" W at shoulder. Excellent condition and color with no damage. A brownish slip glaze was applied to the biscuit and a second darker glaze applied over it. As you may see, chocolate brown shows through mainly at the shoulder, mouth and base. Additional images on request. Henan black glazed wares date from the Song through the Qing dynasties. Insured shipping at cost.

A fine Chinese archaistic bronze pear shaped vase of Fanghu form decorated with four bands of moulded decoration with a pair of horned mythical beast-head loop handles. The shape and decoration are derived from a Zhou prototype fanghu or ritual wine vessel. A pair of octagonal porcelain salvers of conventional Dutch silver form with reeded gadrooned edges. The centre of the dishes decorated with a traditional Chinese lakeside landscape scene and the rim decorated with garlands of flowers. The reverse plain but for a set of trivet marks. The salvers measure 19cm in diameter from point to point, and stand approximately 2cm high. They are in good condition one with a small fit to one corner, otherwise no chips, cracks or restoration.
